Defining Moment : Kota Srinivasa Rao discourages Uttej from getting married
The whole set up is extremely funny, to say the least. Uttej comes to give his wedding card to Kota Srinivasa Rao, who in turn makes him sit and narrates a story. He's so drunk that he ends up speaking in broken English about the travails of a married life based on his past experiences. The film, directed by Siva Nageswara Rao, was released in 1993 and this scene featuring Kota Srinivasa Rao, Paresh Rawal and Uttej is funny as ever.
AHA NAA PELLANTA
Defining Moment : Hanging the chicken upside down and eating rice
Kota Srinivasa Rao defined what a miser should be like in this rib-tickling comedy directed by Jandhyala. One of the film's most memorable scenes has Kota Srinivasa Rao eating plain rice with a chicken hanging upside down right in front of his eyes. If you haven't figured out that it's his version of chicken biriyani, then Brahmanandam's voice-over certainly clears all doubts.

Defining Moment : Kota scolds his son for being unemployed
It's early in the morning and as usual, Kota's son, played by Venkatesh, gets ready to look for a job; however, he does the mistake of asking his father for more money on that day. Kota gets so angry on his son that he throws the money on Venkatesh's face and tells him he can do whatever he wants to and walks out of the house. This scene lasts for less than five minutes, but the impact lasts for a long time.
LITTLE SOLDIERS
Defining Moment : Training his grandchildren
Kota Srinivasa Rao played Major Harishchandra Prasad, a retired army officer, who's devastated after he comes to know that his son and daughter-in-law were killed in an accident. Now, he has to raise his grandchildren on his own, but before he warms up to them, he makes them undergo a gruelling training regime to make them stronger. It's a heartwarming episode in the film.

Defining Moment : Kota Srinivasa Rao apologizes to a horse for not giving it a royal treatment
Kota Srinivasa Rao stars as a descendant of a royal family who hasn't quite managed to let go of his family's legacy. He speaks in pure Telugu which confuses a lot of people around him and several times, he has to translate his words in to English. There's a scene in the film where Kota apologizes to a horse for not giving a royal treatment unlike yesteryears when his family was uber rich.
PELLAINA KOTHALO
Defining Moment : Kota Srinivasa Rao is the voice of reason
Towards the end of the film, Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani decide that they no longer want to live together. Soon after their marriage, their opinions and views on how they want to live their lives begin to diverge and in the end, the entire family sits together to find a solution. When all hope seems to be lost, Kota Srinivasa Rao, who plays Jagapathi Babu's grandfather, drives sense into them and tells them that mistakes can be rectified and that they are not the reason to seek a divorce.

Defining Moment : Kota reprimands his son for getting into trouble repeatedly
Kota Srinivasa Rao plays a head constable and he's totally vexed up with the antics of his son, Chanti (Ravi Teja). He keeps reprimanding his son for most part of the film and pleads the latter to not defame his name in front of his superiors in the police station. When he finally gets to know that his son and the commissioner's (Prakash Raj) daughter are in love, all hell breaks loose.

Subhalekha Sudhakar, Brahmanandam and Maharshi live in Kota Srinivasa Rao's house and one fine day, Naresh decides to move to their house. His first interaction with Kota Srinivasa Rao is a disaster and this leads to great deal of animosity between Kota Srinivasa Rao and Naresh. When the latter sneaks into the house, Kota gets a hint of the foulplay and when he comes upstairs to check what's going on, it leads to a comedy of errors
HAI HAI NAYAKA
Defining Moment : Kota Srinivasa Rao threatens Suthivelu
Kota Srinivasa Rao is a rich man who wants a bunch of school teachers to educate his son. One day, a district education officer comes to their village to test the intelligence of the children and he goes berserk after he hears the young boy's replies. Kota Srinivasa Rao reprimands the entire staff in the school for humiliating him and theatrens Suthivelu, the school principal, that if they don't teach his son everything in six months, he'll construct a rice mill on the same location. He uses a lot of cuss words in the film, but everyone he's about to say something, director Jandhyala carefully camouflages it by flashing 'Bhoothu Bhoothu Boothu'. It's a marvelous trick which filmmakers today can use.

Defining Moment : Kota narrates stories in Telangana slang
In this film, Kota Srinivasa Rao has the uncanny knack of narrating stories, films and on one occasion, even Sampoorna Ramayanam, in Telangana slang and needless to say, it's hilarious. Not just that, every time, he catches one person to listen to his stories and by the end of the conversation, they get so vexed up that they vow to never talk to him again.
FAMILY CIRCUS
Defining Moment : Kota gets humiliated by his neighbours in the colony
Jagapathi Babu, Roja, Rajendra Prasad star in this film which is filled with dysfunctional families, feminists and children who create mayhem in the colony they live in. Kota Srinivasa Rao played the role of an ex-army officer who is now the president of the colony and every now and then, he gets humiliated by his neighbours. His assistant, played by Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, only makes the matters worse.
SUBHALAGNAM
Defining Moment : Kota is tormented by his son, who's an aspiring actor
Kota Srinivasa Rao becomes increasinly concerned about his son's future and one fine day, much to his dismay, his son, played by Ali, decides to become an actor. From there onwards, Ali, along with a director, try to make everything into a scene from a film and let Ali show his acting prowess. Kota Srinivasa Rao becomes a scapegoat and after a point, he completely loses his cool.
AA NALUGURU
Defining Moment : Kota demands his money back
Kotayya lends Rs 5 lakhs to Raghu Ramayya (Rajendra Prasad) and the latter promises that he would repay the money promptly. However, Raghu Ramayya passes away all of a sudden and just before Raghu Ramayya's son, played by Raja, is about to set his father's dead body on fire, Kotayya demands his money back. Things take a dramatic turn when Raja is about to leave the place without honouring his father's last words, but the rest of the crowd comes forward to repay the loan. It's one of the brilliant scenes in his highly emotional film about human values.
HELLO BROTHER
Defining Moment : Kota Srinivasa Rao, Mallikarjuna Rao strike a bond
Kota Srinivasa and Mallikarjuna Rao could very well be one of the funniest S.I-Head Constable jodis in Telugu cinema. In EVV Satyanarayana's Hello Brother, starring Nagarjuna, Soundarya and Ramya Krishna, Kota Srinivasa and Mallikarjuna behave like Tom and Jerry for most part of the film and in an interesting turn of events, Mallikarjuna Rao is promoted instead of Kota Srinivasa Rao. In the end, their subplot in the film takes a tragic turn which is quite surprising considering how different the rest of their scenes are.

Defining Moment : Q & A between Kota Srinivasa Rao and Babu Mohan
Kota Srinivasa Rao and Babu Mohan played the roles of washermen in this film starring Venkatesh. Babu Mohan has a bundle of questions to ask about everything under the sun and when he finally reveals the question, Kota Srinivasa Rao is so frustrated that they end up fighting all the time. The questions, along with the duo's expressions, make it worth watching these scenes again and again.
