In her recent Interview

Hi Madhavi, how are you doing?
Hi, I’m well.
After ‘Snehituda’ in 2009, you almost vanished.  Could you please tell your fans and our readers why it took so long to return back to the industry?
Yes, I almost vanished after ‘Snehituda’. I’m now opening up to everyone.  I’ve a communication skill problem and also can’t mingle with all.  That’s because I’m not game for skin show.  And the second reason was my education.  My dad wanted to see me as a doctor but I failed to fulfill his wish.  However finally I completed my M.A in Sociology and joined in M.Sc (Fashion Tech) in UK

Well, what have you learnt from your past?
I’ve learnt several things in life and circumstances have taught me about the film industry and the people involved in it.  Here, girls need to have sweet smile, good communication skills, good command of spoken English and lots more.
Before making your acting debut in Tollywood, has you any experience in film industry?
No, I did not have any experience but I can say that I’m a born artist.  I used to participate in several cultural events and social activities since my childhood because I love acting very much.
How did you feel when you first walked in an audition?
That was lil scary audition when I met Ravi Babu garu for the first time.  He looked tall with serious face.  However I felt comfortable after speaking to him.  He is a very nice person.  Fortunately they waited for me to cast me in female lead role in ‘Nachchavule’.  I had to rush for styling my hair and then the photo shoot as the movie was to launch within the time span of three days. But thanks to Ravi Babu garu.
Was your film entry by accident or planned?
As I said earlier, I had passion for acting right from my childhood.  My dream, my passion, my desire and my goal all put together have brought me to the industry.  In other words, my dream has come true.
Let’s talk about your comeback into films.
Well, I had plans to come back into films after returning back from UK.  Exactly during that time I got offers like ‘Aravind-2’ and ‘Chudalani Cheppalani’. ‘Chudalani Cheppalani’ is a different conceptual film in which I played a deaf and dumb girl and Tarakaratna played the blind guy.  Later offers poured in but seriously, I didn’t want to do any film that comes my way because money is not important for me.  I want to do good roles and hence waited for it.  Eventually I got a call from director Krishna Vasa for the film I’m currently working for alongside Ghazal Srinivas.
Could you tell us what is the film really about and the role you are playing?
It’s a periodical film on 1950s backdrop based on Chalam’s novel.  I’m playing a pure Telugu woman in this film.
How did the producers approach you for the film?
Actually, I never knew who the producers were for that film. As I knew Krishna Vasa for the past 6 years and I used to generally share with him about my dream of getting a National award.  So he promised me that he would definitely offer me a role if he directs a film.  And I was like ok ok (smiles) because I did not trust his words and days passed away….infact I can say that it’s been ages.  After four years, finally I received a call from him asking me to come to his office.  He said that he is gonna narrate the story to me that would show me the way to win the National award.  So I immediately went to his office which was also a recording studio.  After listening to his story narration, I felt awesome and at the same time nervous too, because the character was so heavy.  Nevertheless I took it as a challenge and accepted it.  Honestly I never remembered his promising words which he told me few years ago.  But trust me, he had not forgotten that I’m worth playing that role.  So that’s how I’m into the project.  I met my producer Raviraj Reddy while shooting in a location at Palakollu.  He is none other than my director’s close friend.

Tell us a little about the director’s work too?
My director Krishna Vasa is basically a very talented musician and he has an awesome grip on Telugu accent and language.  The modulation of dialogues is pretty tuff. My role is something similar to yester year actress Savitri’s kind of dramatic action and dialogue delivery too.  I’m playing a pure Telugu woman and its so tuff that for the first time I’m being prompted by him.  But I’m confident that I can do 100% justice to my role because of my director who trusted me and considers me as great actress.
Who’s composing the music for this film and who’s the cinematographer?
As said earlier, my director is a talented musician and good singer too.  So he rendered the music by himself. Koti is the cinematographer.  He worked for several movies in Telugu and Tamil.  He is a good friend of our director.  Overall it’s a friends’ film.
There appears to be husband-wife bonding scenes between you and Ghazal Srinivas in the film?  How comfortable are you with the actor?
Yeah, it’s a beautiful story of husband and wife.  But there are no romantic scenes in it. Beyond that I can’t reveal anything right now.  Gazal Srinivas is a good human being and makes people comfortable.  So I’m very much comfortable to work with him.  Hahaha…he treats me like a small kid because I look that small……lol.
What is the feedback on your performance in the movie so far?
Feedback is good.  My director is very happy about my performance.  According to him my judgement is always perfect.  Apart from him, Gazal garu, my producer and crew members are also happy about my performance.
After doing light-hearted films like ‘Nacchavule’ and ‘Snehituda’, don’t you feel pressure to do a role of this kind?
Yeah definitely, because this film is completely contrast when compared to my earlier films.  This role is so heavy that I had to carry a lot of responsibility on my shoulders.  However I feel it as pleasure and not pressure.  This kind of roles is a rare phenomenon and I’m honored to get one.
Are you expecting an award?
Yes 100%.  We are making this film aiming for an award.  I’m expecting a NATIONAL AWARD indeed as I feel I deserve it.  I don’t care and I don’t bother about those people who will call it over confidence.  When I accepted this role many told me that I took a wrong step.  But truly I don’t care.  Our target is award and women.  I will speak more about it after the completion of our film.
We know that you are a Telugu girl.  Could you brief a little more about yourself, your family background and your education?
Yes, I’m a Telugu girl but born in Karnataka and grew up in Pune.  We were in Karnataka for 16 years and I pursued my degree in Bellary WomensCollege.  My dad is a railway employee and my mom is a home-maker.  I’ve two elder brothers – 1st brother Mohan is working in Pharmaceuticals and 2nd brother is in Indian Army and currently lives in South Africa
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are that I’m confident, daring and dashing.  I simply listen to my heart and do whatever it says.  I like challenges.  I’m self-confident to solve it.  My weaknesses are sentiments and emotions.  Even though I’m a brave girl, my emotions pull me back most of the time. Yet I’ve not gone through the downfall stage. My family is my main strength.
Do you have a God father in the industry?
I’ve no God father.  I’m fighting for life, truth and honesty all alone.  It’s very rare to find true people these days.  However I’m not going to leave my morals and ethics.  I’m sorry to say that.
You are a talented actress who hasn’t gotten the needed recognition over the past few years.  Did you regret for it?  Who deserves the blame?
I don’t wanna blame any one for that.  If at all I need to blame, it’s me, myself because even though I’m talented, I’m not smart enough to act with people.  These days talent wont workout, one has to be smart to rule.  So I do regret for not getting the much needed recognition.  But it’s a waste of time.  So I’ve decided that ‘No regrets No pains’.
In the past two decades, heroines from north and neighborhood states are ruling the Telugu film industry.  Did you ever get the impression that you were born in the wrong decade?
No never! I agree that North Indians are ruling the industry.  But I still feel proud of being a Telugu girl.  It’s directors and producers who want them here and making them stars.  I’ve No attitude, if people have problem with my attitude that’s not my problem.
So you think Telugu film industry is loosing its originality day by day.
100%.  I’m sure the Telugu industry will loose everything after 5 years as Talent has no value here.  It’s been 6 years since I entered this field.  Now I can see lot of changes in the industry.  Not just the industry, it’s very difficult to find true people in the society as such.  Nevertheless all are good at heart when it comes to their personal lives.
What are your top three favourite movies in Telugu.  Who are your top three favourite directors and top three favourite heroes?
Top three favourite movies – Abhinandana, Gang Leader, Samsaram Oka Chadarangam.
Top three heroes – Childhood hero Chiranjeevi, School days hero Srikanth and now it’s Pawan Kalyan, but I’m not a fan of him.
Going by today’s trend, are you open for intimate scenes?
Intimate scenes???? You mean Liplock kind off????  I’m SORRY.
I appreciate your guts for still believing that you can carve a bright career without all that.
I like to be what I wanna be.  If others have problem with me let them be.  Life is a choice.   One needn’t have to chase anyone.  No regrets No pain.  Keep Smiling Always.(Smiles)
What personal goals do you have for yourself?
I’ve only one goal in life, which is to get a National Award.  Right now I’m running a Foundation named NAKSHATHRA FOUNDATION.  I’m running this for needy people.  I want to do something good to the society as much as I could till my last breath.  My entire family is supporting me for the social cause.  Right from my grandfather to myself, we are all dedicated to our country.
Do you have any last words for your fans?
Not last words, but Small words.  Do good, be good. Never hurt anyone with your words.  Don’t disrespect girls, whoever it is.  Life is very short.  So just be happy even in struggles.  God is there to help you out.  Chill and enjoy.  Thanks for loving me and keep loving me.
Thank you so much Madhavi Latha for your wonderful bold answers.  We wish you good luck for a bright film career.

When Priyanka Chopra met Bryan Adams

Do you know who shot this photograph of Priyanka Chopra? Well, he is none other than the iconic Bryan Adams!
For those in the dark, Bryan Adams is also a well-known photographer and has launched a number of famous faces through his brand campaigns. Bryan has been fashion photographer for more than two decades now and has been a driving force behind numerous iconic ad campaigns for uber luxe brands.
When I met Priyanka, I asked her about meeting Bryan Adams and posing for him for the Guess campaign which has got a humongous traction in the US. Interestingly  the campaign is also a big hit among the brand’s consumers who perhaps have no idea what a Bollywood movie is.
When I asked Priyanka about Bryan, she gave me a very interesting answer.
Describing him as humble and down-to-earth, she said: “He has a certain daal-chaawal (humble) quality of Indian men. Now we know each other well. It was fun working with him and we listened to a lot of Hindi songs while shooting for the campaign.”
The ad depicts Priyanka what she is in real life – a movie star. Explaining the campaign story-board, Priyanka says, “It was a candid depiction of the life of a movie star. I meet the man of my life, he showers me with compliments and then we go on a dinner date,” she adds.
The singer-actress reveals that Bryan’s knowledge of Hindi surprised her. “He’s a cool guy and can speak Hindi to some extent. He’s threatened me that he will pull me on stage once he comes to India to perform. He also gave me tips on singing and sang songs for me too,” the actress adds with a giggle.
Priyanka says that the best compliment she has received about the campaign is when a few people said that she reminded them of the legendary Hollywood actress Sophia Loren.
“She (Sophia Loren) was a beautiful woman and to be compared to her means the life to me. For me this is a big thing. These are occasions when I get to speak about my country outside my country. During these times I feel proud to be an Indian,” she states matter-of-factly.
The Guess advertising campaign with Pee Cee will run in the US market during Christmas. During this period, you will be able to spot  the ad in leading international magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Paper, Nylon, ELLE, Marie Claire, WWD Collections, Hollywood Reporter and the WSJ Magazine.

As Donations Pour In, Aam Aadmi Party Tries to Transform Campaign Finance

MUMBAI — The Aam Aadmi Party, having shaken up the political order in India by its surprisingly strong showing in the Delhi state assembly elections last month, is also making an attempt to change the way the country’s political campaigns are financed.
When the party first began campaigning in 2012, it promised complete transparency in its finances, creating a website in which the name of the donor is listed, along with the donor’s country of residence, the date and the amount of the donation.
These efforts mark a considerable departure from the murky practices considered the norm in electoral finance in India. It’s the first time there has been this level of transparency in fund-raising by a political party in India,” said E. Sridharan, academic director at the University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India in New Delhi, who has written extensively about electoral finance.
The party says that its financial transparency is intended to differentiate Aam Aadmi from the other political parties, which often accept large donations from private enterprises and individual donors. These donors often expect a payback in the form of public sector licenses and favorable regulations.
“It was a very conscious decision on the part of the party that we are not going to resort to the usual funding techniques used by political parties, nor are we going to depend on corporates,” said Ankit Lal, social media and IT administrator for the Aam Aadmi Party.
While Indian law only requires donations above 20,000 rupees to be made public, the Aam Aadmi Party lists the names of those who give as little as 100 rupees. Also, political parties need to submit their accounts only annually to the Election Commission, but the Aam Aadmi Party has already published their reports of donations on its website.
The party has raised 49.5 million rupees, or $794,000, as of Tuesday since its victory in the Delhi state elections in early December. Before the Delhi state elections, the party received an average of 500,000 rupees a day, but currently it is drawing 1.5 million to 2 million rupees a day.
For the Delhi elections, over 70,000 individuals donated, of which 55,000 gave 10,000 rupees or less, said Mr. Lal. Nearly 60 percent of the total amount was donated online, where the party has spent much of its fund-raising efforts.
Parties can receive an unlimited amount of donations, but for the state elections in December, the party stopped accepting donations on Nov. 17, after it reached its fund-raising goal of 200 million rupees. “We set a campaign cap because we didn’t want to take more money than we needed,” said Mr. Lal.
Though the 1-year-old party has found success in fund-raising, the amounts it has received are still small compared what the more established parties have raised in the past. A study by the Association for Democratic Reforms showed that in the 2011-12 financial year, which begins in April, the Congress Party had a total reported income of 3.07 billion rupees and the Bharatiya Janata Party, or B.J.P., had 1.7 billion rupees.
However, the Aam Aadmi Party is willing to reject money if the source doesn’t meet its standards for transparency and honesty. It has turned down donations from certain companies that it deemed as having a less-than-clean track record or from donors whose nationality could not be established. Indians living abroad, also known as nonresident Indians, are allowed to donate to political campaigns in India, but foreign nationals are not.
According to the Aam Aadmi Party website, the United States has the highest number of nonresident Indian donors as of Tuesday, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Singapore and Canada. While the average Indian resident donates about 500 rupees, overseas Indians gives an average of 2,000 rupees to the campaign, said Mr. Lal.
When India’s Home Ministry ordered an inquiry into allegations of foreign donations to the party in November, the party welcomed the investigation and called on the government to look into each party’s sources of funding. (The inquiry is still pending.)
“Political parties have always received money from outside the country,” said Mr. Sridharan. “Some of this money is also being sent out and then being brought back in a round trip through Mauritius. There is money, which is corrupt money, that is taken out of the country to Swiss banks, Mauritius or the Cayman Islands, and being brought back during elections.”
In an attempt to encourage traceable contributions, political parties receive tax breaks on the condition that they file audited financial statements.

Don’t need legal opinion. The bill will be passed says Home Minister Shinde

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Friday said there was no hurdle in formation of separate Telangana state. A day after the Andhra Pradesh assembly passed a resolution rejecting the state reorganization bill, he told reporters in the national capital that the bill will be passed during the parliament session, beginning Feb 5.
“The bill will be passed. There will be no problem,” said Shinde to queries if the resolution would impact the process of statehood to Telangana. The home minister said the bill was yet to be received from the state legislature. He also denied that the government has sought legal opinion from the Attorney General.
Both houses of the state legislature had Thursday passed official resolutions, by a voice vote, rejecting the bill sent by the President.
The Group of Minister (GoM) headed by Shinde is likely to meet on Feb 4 to give final shape to the report after going through amendments suggested by the state legislature. It will then send the bill to the president with the recommendation to forward the same to parliament.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said the bill did not require approval of the state legislature. He also said the attitude of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who moved the resolution in the assembly rejecting the bill, was unexpected.
Congress general secretary incharge of party affairs in the state Digvijaya Singh reiterated that the party was committed to formation of a Telangana state. He told reporters in Hyderabad that the issues raised by the chief minister in the assembly would be taken into consideration. IANS

Plan becomes reality after nearly 60 years.

"After [due] consideration, we have come to the conclusion that it will be in the interests of Andhra as well as Telangana if, for the present, the Telangana area is constituted into a separate State, which may be known as the Hyderabad State, with provision for its unification with Andhra after the general elections likely to be held in or about 1961.” – The SRC Report, 1955."

Online mafia syndicates in Bollywood

I had been researching on this topic for about a month now, but failed to come up with a safe way to expose the online syndicates that systematically sabotage big-budget Bollywood films.
I had unearthed a few startling pieces of information but was not sure how to write about it as the post would point towards a specific company or a person.
The research was also taking a lot of time. At the same time, I had a premonition that Dhoom3 will face such an online attack. Then one day, help came from an unexpected quarter.
I got a message from ‘a Salman Fan,’ which said that an online syndicate is active in full force againstDhoom3.
One day latera Twitter follower pointed me towards an anonymous post. The faceless and nameless blogger had successfully unearthed an organised smear campaign syndicate that was working overtime to bring down Dhoom3.
Unfortunately, that blog post seemed to have lost the plot and turned out to be a smear campaign against a reigning Bollywood superstar, directly accusing him of using his PR arm to sabotage Dhoom 3 as it is a Aamir Khan film. By falsely accusing another actor of sabotage, they had unfortunately digressed from the actual issue.
The producers of Dhoom3 are busy celebrating the success of Dhoom3 and this, understandably, must have escaped their attention.
So, I decided to bring this to light.
Dear Bollywood filmmakers, this time they might have failed against a behemoth but tomorrow they might just be successful. Their hate campaigns on social networking sites might make your film crash-land within days of its release.
If you need to protect your film, then pay attention to this smear campaign that was directed against Dhoom 3 and Aamir Khan.

The systematic sabotage against Dhoom 3

A Twitter handle @jodsou was created days before the release of Dhoom3.
From the day of the film’s release, this Twitter handle ensured that whenever you try to look for information on Dhoom 3, his tweet which trashes the film, would always emerge on top of the stack. So, if you are looking to figure out the word-of-mouth on Dhoom 3 on Twitter, then there is a 90% chance that you will come across his tweets.
Here is the last tweet from the handle where he abuses Aamir Khan. Strangely, after Christmas there has been no tweet from this handle.

Congress Core Group confirms to place Telangana Bill in Upcoming Parliament Session

Telangana bill will be brought up in the upcoming Parliament session, Congress said today downplaying its rejection in the Andhra Pradesh Legislature.
As Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party chief Sonia Gandhi discussed the issue at the meeting of the core group, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters that Congress was committed to creation of Telangana.
Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi also attended the meeting.
Noting that what happened in the state Assembly was “not at all unexpected”, Singhvi had a veiled dig at BJP saying parties “shedding crocodile tears” over the issue will be “exposed” when the bill comes up in Parliament.
“What happened there (in state Assembly) was not at all unexpected. UPA government is committed to Telangana. Though it does not require the prior approval of assembly, we believe in process and that process we have gone through diligently,” he said.
He also hit out at Opposition parties over their ‘shifting’ stand over the issue. “Other parties, who have been shedding crocodile tears will be exposed. It remains to be seen as to what extent they cooperate. UPA government has already moved forward towards the creation of Telangana,” he said.
A party leader speaking on the condition of anonymity said delay on the Telangana decision happened as Congress wanted to build consensus of all parties and when it realised that it needed to bite the bullet, the party did that.
“BJP may not like to see us walking away with the credit of creating Telangana. But they had committed creation of the new state publicly. So any contrary step will expose them,” the leader said.

What Patel said and how CM Kiran Kumar Reddy distorted it!

CM Kiran Kumar Reddy speaking in the AP assembly today quoted Patel to support his view that AP Assembly’s views and resolution should dictate the State bifurcation issue and not Centre’s views. As usual the CM conveniently distorted Patel’s views by quoting selectively just part of it and not the main intention of that speech.
Speaking in the Constituent Assembly Debate On 12 October, 1949, Patel outright rejected the suggestion that a State’s consent is required before it’s boundaries are changed. He supported an amendment to existing draft which said State’s consent is required. While this is the fact, CM Kiran read out one part of the speech which sounded as if State’s views matter more than the Centre’s. Here is the exact paragraph of that speech Patel gave in 1949. Instead of quoting the whole para, the CM quoted just the lines in bold below.
Another matter about which I would like to remove misgivings is the proposed amendment to article 3. This amendment places the States in Part III on the same footing as the States in Part I in respect of territorial readjustments. The Constituent Assembly of Mysore recommended to us that the article as already adopted by this House, which provides for prior consent of the House, should remain unaltered. We have not found it possible to agree to the suggestion for the simple reason that in such matters there should be no differentiation between Part I and Part III States.
I, however take this opportunity of assuring the representatives of Mysore State that whether the article provides for consultation or consent of the legislature of the affected State, the wishes of the people cannot be ignored either by the Central Government or legislature. After all, we are a democracy; the main sanction behind us is the will of the people and we cannot act in disregard of public opinion.

Telangana citizen as MICROSOFT CEO

The board of directors at Microsoft is preparing to tap Satya Nadella as CEO Steve Ballmer’s successor and is holding discussions to replace Chairman Bill Gates, according to some media reports. Microsoft did not immediately respond to the reports.
Nadella, who joined Microsoft in 1992, is in charge of the company’s enterprise and cloud businesses.
When Microsoft filed its last annual proxy in October, it reported Nadella received compensation valued at about $7.6 million for the 2013 fiscal year, including $669,167 in salary, a $1.58 million bonus and a $5.4 million stock award. He gained another $4.9 million from previously awarded shares that vested.
Microsoft also said Nadella held another 454,000 shares, worth $15.6 million, that had not yet vested.
It’s likely that Nadella would receive a large salary increase and sizable stock award if he’s named CEO. When Apple’s Tim Cook was named CEO, he received a restricted stock award then valued at about $376 million.
Born in Hyderabad, India, he attended Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet before getting a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from the Manipal University. After moving to the US, Nadella earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Nadella worked with Sun Microsystems before joining Microsoft.

Are RSS and BJP on the same page regarding Telangana?

RSS view on Telangana’s statehood has again become subject of discussion after Seshadri Chari, former editor of Organizer, the RSS mouthpiece appeared on a national media channel and sounded unenthusiastic about unconditional support to Telangana Bill in Parliament. He said the bill may not be in ‘proper shape’ without considering the 9000 ‘amendments’ advanced by AP legislators. He even went to the extent of praising ‘AP’s long history since Potti Sriramulu’!
While top national leadership of BJP continue to say there is no change in stance over supporting Telangana Bill, Off late, second wrung leadership and media sources repeatedly talk about the if’s and but’s. Not too long ago, RSS itself didn’t quite favor statehood for Telangana and few months ago, it held meetings with BJP leadership in both regions of AP to arrive at an amicable common viewpoint, which it subsequently seem to have abandoned. Now that the T bill is headed to Parliament, lots of attention is focused on BJP and its allies. While a deviation from its stated position is untenable for BJP at this point, they may push hard for some amendments in the bill to show their Seemandhra cadre that they, unlike Congress, have Seemandhra interests at heart. But RSS and the Sangh may be roped in to weigh in, by leaders like Venkaiah Naidu to drive a hard bargain for Andhra.

Centre sending K Vijay Kumar I.P.S. to Hyd as it prepares T Bill for Parliament

After the AP Assembly’s resolution against Telangana and the stated position of CM KiranKumar Reddy, the central Govt. seems to be taking a fresh view of law and order issues in Hyderabad as the bill is prepared for introduction in Parliament. While the developments in AP assembly have no bearing on the fate of T Bill, they did raise the tempers among Pro and Anti Telangana activists. Added to this is the CM’s partisan approach, which may reflect in policing at this crucial juncture. So the Centre is taking no chances and is sending K Vijay Kumar, Sr. Security advisor in Union Home Ministry to Hyderabad for few days to access ground level situation and recommend measures to control law and order in AP, especially Hyderabad, as the T Bill gets discussed and passed in Parliament.
Mr Vijay Kumar earlier headed the task force to look into the same issue while preparing the GoM report. He seems to be continuing in that role till Telangana is formed.

Arjun Rampal allegedly sent legal notice for failing to pay nightclub rent

Actor Arjun Rampal is not having a good 2014. First gossip blamed him for the much-discussed Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Khan break-up, then he was reportedly dropped by his agents, and now it seems he's involved in a sticky legal situation on a separate front.

A nightclub run by the Bollywood actor in a five star Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) hotel in New Delhi has allegedly been slapped with a legal notice after Arjun reportedly failed to pay rent dues to the tune of about Rs 2 crores. The RA.One star was reportedly also sent reminders to pay the overdue rent.

While there has been no official response from Arjun, he did tweet this on January 25: "So I am Bankrupt now!!! According to media reports. So everyone cash out ur checks now. lmao. #ridiculous"

Arjun's nightclub opened in August 2009 with interiors designed by his wife, former model Mehr Jessia and Gauri Khan, wife of his good friend and cos-star of movies like Don and Om Shanti Om, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh sings to Deepika: Boyfriend ka naam bolo

Actress Deepika Padukone is Queen Bee of Bollywood right now. She had a 100 crore hat-trick last year with Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Ram-Leela and she's cleaning up at award shows this year. But what everyone really wants to know is this - is The Dimpled One single or is she, as gossip says she is, dating a certain co-star named Ranveer Singh?

Intrepid journalists have thus far failed to elicit a satisfactory answer to this from Deepika herself so when her Chennai Express co-star Shah Rukh Khan button-holed her on-stage at the Screen Awards held in Mumbai on January 14, the audience held its breath.

In typically SRK-style, the Badshah of Bollywood fired a musical salvo at Deepika right after he had presented her with the award for Best Actress. Borrowing from his blockbuster film Chennai Expresssong One Two Three Four, SRK sang, "One two three four, boyfriend ka naam bol, kaun hai woh, kaun hai woh, uski tu pol khol, media guessing guessing, people waiting waiting, bolo bolo, bolo kaun hai woh."

Deepika trilled back at SRK, "Uff uski ada, I like the way he moves, uff uski shakal, I love the way he looks, uff jo bhi hai woh, I'll never tell you," the original of which lines can be found in the movie Karthik Calling Karthik starring Deepika herself and Farhan Akhtar.

As the SRK and Deepika crooned, the camera found the above-mentioned co-star, beaming proudly in the audience, now minus the giant moustache he was seen with all of last year.

And, no, Deepika wasn't giving SRK a name.
