Telangana Will Be Reality Before 2014 Elections: DS

Even as Seemandhra leaders are confident that they could stall the T-process till 2014 polls, former PCC chief D Srinivas thinks the Centre would complete bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh before that.
“Ensuing general elections will be held in two States–Seemandhra and Telangana. No force can stop the formation of T-state now. The Centre as well as our party high command have a clear road map on how to complete the process before 2014 polls,” he told mediapersons in Delhi on Monday.
He made these remarks soon after meeting party boss Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath.
According to sources, during his 45-minute meeting, Srinivas has submitted a report on the political developments in the State.
He is understood to have told his party supremo that the Seemandhra leaders were planning to seek more time from the President to debate the T-Bill so as to delay the process.
On the BJP’s sudden proactive attitude towards the apprehensions of Seemandhra people, he said he thinks the BJP would vote in favour of the T-Bill as the party had already announced it publicly.
The former PCC chief said there was no need to extend the time given to the State Legislature to debate the T-Bill as the President had already given over 40 days. He asked his Seemandhra counterparts to cooperate with the Centre’s efforts to bifurcate AP and try to get a financial package for the residuary State of AP.
When asked about the remarks of Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao that bifurcation was getting delayed as TRS was not willing to merge with Congress, Srinivas said it had nothing to do with bifurcation of AP.
Will he be the first CM of Telangana state? Srinivas said, “Those who have luck will become the first CM. I am ready to accept any responsibility to serve the party.”
