Nadendla clarifies discussion on Telangana bill has started

In a major setback to CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar has categorically stated that the discussion on Telangana bill had already commenced.
CM Kiran Kumar Reddy earlier said that the statehood Bill had only been tabled at the Assembly, and not introduced.
During the Business Advisory Committee meeting yesterday, MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi asked the Speaker whether the discussion on statehood Bill had started or not. To this query, Manohar replied that the discussion had indeed started.
TRS MLAs Etela Rajendar and T. Harish Rao expressed their happiness regarding Nadendla Manohar’s decision on the debate.
The speaker also asked the members to submit their suggestions on amendments to the bill in written format by 10th Jan.
Telangana MLAs from all parties, especially TRS, are happy over Speaker’s decision to seek amendments to statehood Bill in written format from MLAs in view of continuous disruption of the house.
TRS floor leader in the Assembly Etela Rajender said “It’s a victory of Telangana people. We welcome it. . Telangana MLAs opine that the Speaker’s decision will increase support for Telangana bill from even Seemandhra region.
