No need for more time on Telangana Bill: Kishan Reddy

Anti-Telangana forces are trying to create confusion among the people by spreading rumours that the T-bill debate time will be extended by the President, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy alleged here on Tursday. The President will not extend the time beyond January 23, he said.
Reacting to reports about chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy writing to the President seeking extention of time for the debate, Kishan Reddy said Pranab Mukherjee has given over 40 days time, but instead of discussing the bill, the Seemandhra lawmakers created ruckus in the House and did not allow the debate.
“After seeing the attitude of the Seemandhra MLAs, I don’t think the President would give more time. All this drama is to get political mileage and to mislead the people of the state. On what ground do they want the President to extend the time?” he asked.
If the Seemanhdhra leaders are serious about a discussion, they should create a conducive atmosphere in the House, he said. “BJP is for discussion on the bill. We want the concerns of the people of both the region addressed before division of the state,” he said.
He said the Centre should call a special session of Parliament and pass the T-bill.
